Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Out of the wire bursts an organic wire blossom. Form the petal frame and weave the base. Vine up the stem and sprout leaves around the bloom. Texture a copper lily pad and leaf. Incorporate these and the perfect focal bead. Watch each one unfurl as it takes on it’s own blossomy character!
Bloom! can be made as a brooch/pendant, brooch, pendant, earrings & sculpture.
Kit Fee of $45 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Copper or brass frame wire, fine silver or copper weaving wire, copper or bronze stem wire, copper or bronze coiling wire
If not purchasing kit, student must bring: (can be all sterling)
- 3.5 Ft 18 G Copper or Bronze Frame Wire
- 2 x 3 ft 24 G Fine silver or copper Weaving wire
- 2.5 ft 16 G Copper or Bronze Stem Wire
- 2 ft 22 G Copper or Bronze Coiling wire
Bloom Center Options
Holes to accommodate 16 G wire - 1 rondelle bead for each "bloom" with design on flat side. This could be a flat pebble with a hole drilled in the center or a lampwork bead flat and roundish.Intructor provides the following items for student's use in class: an assortment of Fretz texturing hammers, 1.25 and 1.80 MM holepunches, 1/8” holepunch, period stamps, 2 utility hammers, 2 Shears, one anvil
Tools all students must bring:
- Round, Chain & Flat nose pliers
- Lg gauge flush cutters
- Pounding block & pad
- Small anvil with a hole in the top
- Chasing hammer
- Texturing hammers
- Metal Shears
- 1.80 MM holepunch
- Emery board
- utility hammer
- period stamp
