Wander with bead soups and fibers! Play with color, texture and form to create elegant, wearable art using freeform vertical netting and fibers for added pizzazz. This class will experiment with free form beadweaving and bead soups and encourage you to break rules… but always with an end design in mind!
Kit Fee: none required but can opt for purchase of components or full kit during class ($10 - $65)
If you choose to purchase a kit during class, then all of the supplies you need to complete the project will be in the kit including: 3 bead soups from Beverly’s Bead Soup Collection, package of fibers, beadweaving notions, snap closure, carrying case and bead mat. Please visit www.gilbertdesigns.net for an array of ideas and color palettes that will be offered or to reserve a kit ahead of time.
Supply List:
You are offered a choice: you may choose to bring your own supplies (as listed below) or you may choose to bring nothing and purchase kits during the class. If you choose to purchase a kit, then all you need to bring is a task light.If you choose to bring your own supplies, then please bring the following:
Bead Soup consisting of at all sizes (from 14/0 to 5/0), shapes (round, hex, tube), finishes (shiny, matte, transparent etc.).
Small pearls, stones, beads in various sizes in colors that compliment your bead soup and fabric palette
5 to 7 8-inch fibers of various types in colors to compliment your bead soup
Your thread of choice (in size B or 4#)
Beeswax
Size 12 needles
Task light and extension cord (optional)
Scissors
Bead mat to lay out your project and work your stitches
Bead tray or mat for your bead soup
