Steamin’ SteamPunk Necklace

In this class students will learn how to use sterling silver solder paste in medium, easy and extra easy and hand held propane torches to solder vintage watch parts onto copper components to create a very unique, "steamin' hot" necklace. You will begin this class by learning the proper use of silver solder and various torches, flux, pickle and cleaning processes. If time permits, an iron binding wire chain will be completed in class as well.

Kit fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes: copper necklace components, vintage watch parts, silver solder paste, iron binding wire and all consumables used in class including, but not limited to; hand held propane torches, propane, liver of sulfur, 0000 steel wool, sanding sponges, pickle, hydrogen peroxide, water and drill bits.

The instructor will provide all tools to be used in this class to be shared by students. Students are welcome to bring their own tools. Tools being used include anvil, files, hammers, torches, solder boards, picks, tweezers, copper tongs, hand punches, drill press, medium wrap-n-tap, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, and cutters.
