Stacked and Caged

Using Caps & textured metal, Stack domes in layer after layer, adding beads for texture & color. When the stacking is done, cage it all up with wire. Embellish as the piece needs and you have personalized your own stacked cage. This class will cover the use of Disc cutters, dapping blocks and punches.

Optional Kit Fee of $ 60 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Focal bead, copper sheet metal, sterling silver wire for each stack in 16 and 18 gauges

If you choose not to purchase the kit, you must bring the following items:
1 focal bead that accommodates 16 Gauge wire, around 20 MM wide. round or rondelle
1 sheet 24 Gauge Copper sheet metal 3” x 3”
Sterling silver wire for each Stack:
6 inches 16 G wire
18 inches 18 G wire

Instructor provides for student's use in class: an assortment of Fretz texturing hammers, Design stamps, 2 Disc Cutters, 2 Dapping blocks with various punches, 1.25 and 1.80 MM holepunches, 2 utility hammers

All Students must bring tools:
Round nose pliers
Chain nose pliers
Flush cutters
Pounding block & pad
Utility hammer
Small piece of leather
Sharpie
Ruler & tape measure
Emery Board 180/100 grit
Polishing cloth

Optional Tools:
Disc cutter
Dapping block
Dapping punches
Handheld holepunches 1.25 MM & 1.80 MM
Texturing tools: design stamps

Optional materials:
Silver or copper caps & spacers. Bring an assortment to choose from.
Embellishing beads. Beads that are from 4-10 MM that compliment the focal bead.
Headpins for the embellishing beads.
