Capture the roar of the surf in this little treasure box necklace. We’ll bend and texture copper around painted wood and mesh to create a wearable talisman for you to house your tiny souvenirs.

No kit fee

Supplies Provided by Teacher: wood pieces, metals tools

Supply List:
A small piece of 24gauge copper (we won’t need more than 5” I wouldn’t think unless you end up making a different size, or more than one. )
Copper metal mesh from hobby stores - big enough to see your treasures (or brass if you prefer)
Small screw eyes
320 grit wet/dry sandpaper for metal
Small metal working hammer I suggest a 4oz ballpein
Hand sheers to cut metal -I will be bringing some if you are unsure, or don’t have any, but you’ll have to share mine
A small steel bench block
Fibers/ribbons to embellish your necklace
Scissors to cut fibers
Fluid acrylic, cheap craft paint, or something to stain your little pieces of wood.
A brush or applicator (I used a Q-tip!)
Chain
Beads, shells, charms to adorn
Tiny shells or other bits for inside your necklace behind the mesh
Copper wire for embellishing - think about what will fit through your beads you may want a few different gauges of wire (my pearls required very thin wire)
Magnifying/reading glasses, if you need them
Ott Light/Extension cord if you need it (Hotel lighting is less than optimal for jewelry workshops)
