Use textured metal to explore techniques using the disc cutter, dapping block and cold joins. All of this culminates in fabulous textured metal beads! Projects included are the Crown Jewel and the Copper Pocket. This class will cover the use of Disc cutters, dapping blocks and punches.

 Optional Kit Fee of $ 60 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Semi-Precious Focal bead, copper sheet metal, sterling silver wire, spacers, washers, small beads, caps, dangles, sterling silver headpins

If you choose not to purchase the optional kit, you must bring the following:
1 focal bead that accommodates 16 Gauge wire, around 25-30 MM wide. round or rondelle
1 sheet 24 Gauge Copper sheet metal 3” x 3”
5” 16 G SS
Spacers or washers with at least a 7 mm inside diameter hole
Small bead that fits on 16 G
Various caps & dangles
20 x 20 G 2” SS Balled headpins
8” 18 G SS
6 - 10 3-4 MM beads

Instructor provides for student's use in class; an assortment of Fretz texturing hammers, Design stamps, 2 Disc Cutters, 2 Dapping blocks with various punches, 1.25 and 1.80 MM holepunches, 2 utility hammers

All Students must bring Tools:
Round nose pliers
Chain nose pliers
Flat nose pliers
Flush cutters
Chasing hammer
Pounding block & pad
Utility hammer
Metal shears
Texturing hammers ( Fretz)
Small piece of leather
Sharpie
Ruler & tape measure
Emery Board 180/100 grit
Polishing cloth

Optional:

Handheld holepunches 1.25 MM & 1.80 MM
