Fun Funky Rings

We all know rings can be serious things – engagement, wedding or class ring – but here's your chance to create fun funky rings to add your wearable art wardrobe. In this workshop students will fabricate rings made of patterned brass or copper and topped with eye catching beads and embellishments. Techniques and skills covered in the class will include: surface preparation and finishing of metal, use of simple cold connections methods, design and problem solving techniques.
Students should be able to complete at least two whimsical rings similar to the example photos. If time permits, experimentation on additional projects will be encouraged.
Supply list :
Several large eye catching beads (a hole is a must)
Small beads and charms
Fine point markerMaterials fee of $8 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Brass, copper, patterned brass, screws, rivets, and miscellaneous supplies will be provided, as well as polishing papers, and embellishments to share.
Tool list:
Basic jewelry making tools will be needed, including round nose and flat nose pliers, wire cutters
Metal snips
Small hammer
Bench block or small anvil
Hole punching pliers (1.8 mm) or small hand drill
Center punch
Small metal fileOptional:
Dremel or other rotary tool
Metal stamps
