Creating Found Object Bezels

In this class the students will learn how to use sterling silver sheet metal, fine bezel wire and sterling silver solder paste to create bezel setting for found objects. An assortment of ephemera as well as items brought in by students will be set in sterling bezels to create one of a kind jewelry. Time permitting, these bezeled pieces will be incorporated into finished pieces of jewelry.

Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes: sanding wheels, 0000 steel wool, sanding sponges, 16g sterling silver jump rings, and all other consumables used in class. Supplies will be available for purchase for extra projects if time permits.

The instructor will provide all torches, tools and consumables to be used by the students for this class. Some items must be shared by the students. If you wish to bring your own tools to avoid a wait, please email Kim for the tool list.

Supply List:
24g. sterling silver 4"x4" sheet
12" of 1/4" fine silver bezel wire
one tube each of sterling silver solder paste in medium, easy and extra easy

Each item will be available through Expressive Impression at www.expressive-impression.com 2 weeks prior to the workshop for purchase at fair market value at the time of order.  You may also contact your local or favorite jewelry supply for these items.  Vintage billiard ball slices will be available for purchase at the time of class ranging from $7.00 to $20.00 or you are welcome to bring your own found object of comparable size  (about 2" in diameter) to use.
