Bench Clutter Pendant Friday $115
  Sabra Sowell-Lovejoy 9:00 - 4:30

Student Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Type of Workshop: Project and Process

Clean out your bench, drawer’s boxes and make a pendant.  The experimental projects that never went anywhere, the failed attempts that became to frustrating to finish, the pieces that never where resolved and the found objects you have made and collected make great materials for unusual interesting jewelry.  I will guide you through the basics of design and how to organize you clutter into beautiful spontaneous looking works of art.  The exciting phenomena about working in this manner is that the finished product will tell a story about the maker that would never have been told had the work remained under the other clutter and dust in your studio. Learning to work in this hands-on direct intuitive manner will allow the creative juices to flow in a completely different manner than working in any preplanned mode of creation.  I will direct you in three different ways that you can organize your junk to tell a story and compose the most outrageous work you have ever created while personally guiding you through the development of a pendant. In order to make the pendant I will teach several different cold connection techniques such as rivets, tabs, sowing and stapling.  This workshop is geared for the student that has too much junk, keeps making more junk and can’t figure out what to do with it.  Each student will walk away with one or two completed pendants depending upon the complication of each design and a new mode of working.
