If you are intrigued with clasps, hinges and mechanisms, you're sure to enjoy fabricating this handsome bracelet. Bring your soldering and sawing A-game to this full day Workshop and pick up a few new techniques to add to your jewelry making skills. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase that special stone you've been saving for just the right piece.

Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):

  • $40.00 includes:
  • 22g sterling silver sheet (40mm x 40mm)
  • 22g sterling silver sheet (22mm x 17mm)
  • 20g sterling silver sheet (8mm x 76mm) x2
  • 24g sterling silver sheet (8mm x 152mm)
  • 16g sterling silver wire (72mm)
  • 18g sterling silver wire (36mm)
  • 14g sterling silver half-bead or twist wire (120mm)
  • bezel wire
  • silver solder
  • flux
  • handouts

Student should bring:

  • Bring a flat-backed cabochon of your choosing that will fit on a 1.25" x 1.25" base with sufficient room left around the stone for embellishments.
  • I will have some stones also if you don't have one to bring.
  • Tool List:
    • Safety glasses
    • Jeweler's saw and blades (#2/0-4/0)
    • Bench Block
    • Bench Pin
    • Pliers - flat nose, chain nose, round nose
    • Files - hand files and/or needle files
    • Calipers - digital calipers can be found online or at Harbor Freight for around $20
    • Rawhide mallet
    • small hammer (goldsmith, chasing, etc.)
    • Wire cutters
    • Scribe
    • bezel rocker, burnishers or bezel pusher

Optional:

  • bracelet bending pliers
  • Metal shears
  • miter vise/jig
  • Dimple pliers
  • metal stamps
  • texture hammers
  • shot plate
  • Dremel tool or flex shaft for drilling
  • Work light - battery operated are best because power is not always available at every table
  • 3"or 4" C-Clamp for holding bench pin on to table
