Learn how to create custom silk screens including tips for working with Photoshop Elements to prepare patterns. Each student will create a silk screen to take home. This screen (or one of the instructor’s) will be used to create the focal element of a tiny journal embellished with dimensional elements. We’ll cover the use of paints, application of multiple colors, creating simple millefiori cane accents, ink imprinting, and molded elements.

This class is both a process and project in creating and using custom silk screens for a variety of materials including polymer clay, fabric and paper. Participants will create an embellished mini journal using the screen they create in class (or choose from one of the teacher’s designs).
