In this project/techniques workshop we will study your individual interpretation of a portrait of Frida Kahlo. Frida was known for her self-portraits. If you know Frida’s works, you also know she was open to a wide variety of interpretation on her themes. She worked in Magic realism, Surrealism and Modern Art. You will be instructed in several aspects of these art forms. These will all be interpreted in your own creative vision. Instruction will be given in acrylic painting of a portrait including the following, but not limited to; tonal flesh application, color selection, collage application, personal interpretation of a theme and the individual forms of the head and how to make your piece come together as an integrated whole. Prepare yourself for a fast paced workshop intended for the intermediate to advanced painter.

Brushes: Acrylic: #8 & #10 flat, #1, #2 round and any additional brushes you may own and use often
