Micro Journal 9:00 - 4:30 Friday Thomas Ashman $145
Student Level: All levels welcome (challenging)
Type of Workshop: Project
Prerequisite: None
It was an itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny copper book patina greenie....(sorry about that). So, here we have the smallest journals I have ever created. At 2" x 3" these precious little journals will fit in the palm of your hand, but hold the biggest secrets of your heart. Students will make an adapted micro-sized version of my original, all-metal binding design with covers of beautifully altered sheet copper. Inside you'll have nice watercolor paper to write, collage, paint, or add photos to make these blank books into heirloom keepsakes. If you work efficiently, you could leave with two of these little beauties and a bunch of useful mixed media techniques like altering, cutting, forming, torching, drilling, grinding and sanding sheet metal, some basic bookbinding terms, wire working, and cold connecting. Good things truly do come in small packages. Get more info on tools and supplies at www.blacksheepartist.com
