Happy Houses 6:30 - 9:30 Wednesday
  Sue Monaghan $70

Student Level:
Beginner - Advanced
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Prerequisite: None

This is a “PLAY & HAVE FUN” project that lets you see ways to use up all those little scraps and bits you may have lying around from other projects. I use this project to give my brain a rest from other work. I use these little house/camper paintings to help explore paints, work on my drawing and doodling skills. There is not right or wrong in these projects. These paintings also help develop better composition skills for future art work. These seem kind of mindless when you’re working, but suddenly they seem to fill in long lost memories of family, friends, and magical summers. I often keep a writing journal close as I am working and jot down memories that come forward, this also helps me build ideas for my other paintings. Great class that helps you leave the art critic at the door.

Instructor will provide:
Glitter
Medium
Dimensional photo tabs for those who want to create a more dimensional art work
Some handouts with doodles to help jump start those that might be stuck.

Students should bring:

Pencil and eraser
Scrapbook paper, old book pages, notes, bits and things from other work, dollies, hand written notes, old mail etc…
9x12 Canvas board (they usually come in three paks) I use Masters Touch.
Black and White gel pen - I use Signo um-153 they write on anything. I also like the glittery gel pens for this project.
Acrylic craft paints in a variety of colors. You need at least, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Yellow, Brown and Green. Feel free to bring other colors or even acrylic inks.
Scissors to cut small items out.
Old credit card or hotel room key to help get items flat when glued down. Bone folders also work.
2-3 medium size flat brushes and one small one for details
If you have room - Heat gun to speed up drying time
A few stamps or you can use found items to help create more layers.
Notebook paper or a journal you might be writing in. I find this project brings old memories that are buried deep and brings them to life. I like to record my thoughts while working on this project.
