Prerequisite: Must be 18 years of age

 
 

Students will learn the technique for building hollow forms in various shapes with polymer clay. In addition, millefiori patterning including basket weave and swirl patterns will be taught plus additional surface texture effects. Decorative connection and hidden suspension methods utilizing wire and findings will be demonstrated. Numerous samples will be on hand. Each participant will receive instructional handouts.

    Materials Fee: $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
    Suspension/connection wire
    Finding sampler
    Coarse texture tool
    Focal crystals
    * And the use of:
    Shape cutters
    Adhesive

    Student should bring:
    Clay dedicated pasta machine
    5 - 6 (or more) blocks of FIMO Soft or Pro clay in colors of student’s choice (All clay should be one brand/type)
    2 large “F” type or “C” clamps
    Smooth 6” x 8” (or larger) ceramic tile (or purchase one from instructor at time of class for $3.00)
    Polymer clay blade
    X-acto type craft knife
    Baby wipes
