Exploring Encaustic Imagery 9:00 - 4:30 Friday
  Amanda Jolley $145

This workshop is filled.
Student Level: Beginner - Intermediate

Type of Workshop: Process and Project
Prerequisite: None

Experience the magical fusion of imagery and encaustics. We will begin with the basics of laying a solid encaustic foundation (beeswax and damar resin). Added to this will be a variety of ways to add photographic imagery and symbols as an addition to your encaustic painting, or as the feature with encaustic enhancing the image. We will explore imagery techniques as we create several paintings including using a photo as the base of the painting, embedding a tissue image in a painting, and adding a transfer of an image on top of the wax. As a part of this exploration process, the techniques of creating texture and depth will also be expanded.
