This is a 6 hour workshop taught on two evenings.

Most mixed-media artists are scavengers at heart; always on the hunt for the unique found object for their art. It can be difficult to use those precious objects so we hoard them. What if we told you that you can easily make replicas of your favorite found objects with mold making and then cast them in paper clay and resin? Learn the tips and tricks for making excellent simple relief and double relief molds, which in turn, ensures perfect results in your castings. During the second evening, discover how to alter your castings with paints and patinas to create exact replicas or completely re-imagine them and then set your face into a bezel that we’ve enhanced with cold enameling and faux opal techniques. Finish your necklace by making your own findings. 

Materials fee: $18 payable to Instructors at class time includes:
Silicone molding putty for every student
ICE Resin
Cold enameling supplies

16-gauge wire to make clasp and jump rings
Ribbon
Mixed metal bezels

Cups and stir sticks

Students should bring:
Found objects: Smooth ones, flat ones, round ones, intricate detail, interesting texture ones, old doll parts, keys, shells, gears, buttons, etc. Look around your studio at interesting objects and bring about a dozen.
Paint brushes
1 bottle of craft raw umber paint, 1 bottle of black paint
Bring a few beads, buttons or broken jewelry baubles from your stash if you wish to personalize your piece
Creative Paperclay 4oz.
Ball Peen Hammer 
Round Nose Pliers
Flat Nose Pliers
Chain Pliers
Steel Bench block and pounding mat or cushion to reduce noise if you have one
Travel size baby wipes
