Scholarships

Each year Art Unraveled offers scholarships to artists who might not otherwise be able to attend. Funds
are donated by attendees who bid on art items during the Saturday evening live auction. The art is created
during the party by teachers and sometimes a team consisting of teachers and students - the art is created in
a very short period of time, so the winning bidders are often very generous given the fact that the art is not some-
thing that the artist(s) had a lot of time to think about or work on nor many resources either. They are presented
with a pile of "stuff" and with minimal tools or supplies, create a work of art. To hear the loud bidding and laughter,
one would think that they were bidding on very fine art worth lots and lots of money! That's just how our generous
attendees are. They too believe in giving a helping hand to others - and so we have the Scholarship program and
the Silent Auction which benefits Youth Development Institute - both which allow others to create art and smile!
