I love anything that’s vintage mother of pearl…brooches, buttons, belt buckles, just to name a few. So when I decided to pull out my precious stash of vintage belt buckles, I knew I wanted to design another piece using one of them. And, that’s how Time to Nest began…
Next, I sifted through one of my many piles of vintage mother of pearl buttons. It just seemed like the thing to do, because there’s nothing quite like adding stacked button links to this design. You can too!

Let’s see what you can do with some of the same goodies I used in my necklace…a wonderful piece of brass filigree, a vintage watch case, a dash of recycled sari silk ribbon, and of course, a vintage mother of pearl belt buckle. I’ll show you how to gently weave a tiny “nestie” right smack dab in the middle of the buckle. And, you’ll surely fly with creativity, as you begin filling your tiny watch case(s) with bits of goodies that’ll make your heart sing…I just know it!
