    Collage art is a powerful vehicle for telling ones stories. By letting go of the attempt to force the outcome and trusting the intuitive voice, it is possible to create art that is deeply personal and visually satisfying. This class will guide the student through the process, from collecting collage materials to laying the groundwork for self-discovery while creating beautiful artistic works worthy of any fine art gallery.

    The intuitive process is not all that mysterious when approached with the intent of this class; to learn to trust your instincts, let go of the plan, not judge the process, and believe in your ability to create something beautiful without a set of rules. Put another way, the art of intuition is just another technique that anyone can master and this class is designed to get the student comfortable with using it.

    In addition to the process of intuitive design, demos and techniques will cover finding the right materials and preparing them for use with deconstruction, ink, paint and dye. Finishing details will include gluing, mark-making, adding details and texture with paint, chalk, pastels, and mounting for display.

Materials fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes unlimited classroom use of:
  • Everything needed for this class, the student may wish to bring their own personal ephemera and images from home to personalize their art, but it isn't necessary and plenty of materials will be on hand to work with.
