Tangled Heart
Saturday 12 - 6 $145
Student Level: Beginner
Type of Workshop: Project
Prerequisite: None
Oh what a tangled heart we will weave! Bring some small, beautiful vintage objects, beads, rhinestone chain, buttons, and maybe a tiny Frozen Charlotte, to weave inside so everything can peek through the tangled cage affect. I think less is more here, but you get to add what you like. You will be creating a mini shrine for your sweet objects. Twisting and bending heavy wire lends itself so beautifully to sculpture, releasing the opportunity for texture and depth. Like a birdcage protecting a sweet songbird, this sculpted heart will protect meaningful found objects. This hand-built mini sculpture will enshrine your beautiful treasures for you to wear and have people curiously peeking at what is inside. Every turn and every bend of wire will vary from tangle to tangle, making it impossible to replicate the same way twice! Make whatever size heart you like depending on your size and preference, then add a dollop of solder to hold in place. Wind objects in and out, layering as you go. Finish off with beads and chain, and maybe a few found objects, completing your lovely Tangled Heart.
