We are going to drift off into a day of creation and adventure. You will be surprised how fast you can learn the easy steps to sculpt a unique and one of a kind sculpture. You then will craft a vessel; maybe a canoe or rowboat or a sea going kayak will be just the thing to carry your creation away.
Instructor will provide the following to share:
- Clay Oven
- Clay tools
- Pasta machine
- Wire cutters
- Assortment of pliers
Students should bring:- 10 oz Sculpey original white clay
- Clay tools if you have them- I have some to share
- Small roll of aluminum foil
- Package of white tissue paper (2 sheets)
- Heavy duty wire cutters, pliers round nose and flat nose
- Black tie wire / rebar wire 16GA 400ft coil - it is black oiled wire for tying rebar together and found at Home Depot, Lowe’s, and hardware stores for under $5
- A base for your boat (the boat needs to be able to be wired to it) or you can attach your base latter at home.
- Gesso 2 oz
- Paints- I like Golden but any quality paint will work
- Titan Buff 2 oz -Golden paint
- Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold - Golden paint
- Burnt Umber- Golden paint
- Black- Golden paint
- A variety of colors for your figures clothes
- Fine pointed paintbrush (for eye detail) and assortment of other small brushes
- 1/2” paint brush for glue
- Pallet paper or flat dish for paints and glue
- Water container
- Paper towels for clean up
- 4 oz Elmer’s glue
Optional:- Apron
- Wet wipes
- Pasta machine
