I love painting on Plexi so much that I want to do it twice. Reverse painting on the wonderfully transparent Plexi gives you built in depth and clarity. Add another layer on the front and you can get double the impact. This class is just so exciting that I think you will be as thrilled as I am with the result. We will work with increasing transparency in your paint, creating resists, transfers and layers. Most importantly, we will work with composition and color so your painting will read clearly through all the layers. I will demonstrate all the steps from cutting, drilling, painting, sealing and assembling and finishing. All you will need to do is take it home and proudly hang it on your wall. Wonderful finished art guaranteed.
Materials fee of $25 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- 2 pieces of Plexi
- water slide transfer
- acrylic glazing fluid
- polymer medium
- specialty sprays
- interference and iridescent paints
- hanging and mounting hardware
and the use of Instructors:- collage materials
- various texture tools and materials
- images for transfers
- stencils
Students should bring:container for water several cheap soft nylon brushes, assorted flat sizes several colors plus black and white fluid acrylic paints (I prefer soft body Liquitex or Golden paint) stepped handle palette knife spray bottle of water spray bottle for alcohol scissors paper towels
