Forget the rules; this class is all about trust. You are a creative being and it is entirely possible for you to learn to let go of your inhibitions and learn to trust your heart as a guide to create a visually satisfying work of art with very little formal training.

The project begins with a process of intuitively creating several small collages which will be the foundation for our mark-making and drawing exercises. Their will be some discussion on hunting and gathering materials and basic supplies, as well as preparing the work environment to maximize the ability to relax and trust the process to unfold naturally. Drawing techniques will include expressive abstract mark-making and adding still life and figurative drawings with little or no experience using chalk, charcoal, graphite and ink.

Everything needed for this class, though the student may wish to bring their own personal ephemera and a still life or figural image from home to personalize their art, it isn't necessary and plenty of materials will be on hand to work with.
