This is a 9 hour workshop.

I just love to create beautiful texture, and this one is all about texture, contrast & color! In this workshop we will create 2 gorgeous, one of a kind shrines using fabric scraps, clay, paint, ink & scrap wood. You will learn all about composition, object placement, mold making, fabric sculpting, and a variety of techniques to create rich & interesting textures. My shrines are all approximately 8” x 6”.  Please join us for a messy, fun day of art making!

    Students should bring:

***If you don’t want to try the dye inks, you can substitute 2 or 3 small bottles of acrylic paint, however the inks really do work best, and the colors are amazing. We will be using the ink to stain the canvas

  • Acrylic paint, a few of your favorite colors
  • A sturdy wooden box, approx. 8” x 6”. Please sand box down to bare wood if there is anything on it.
  • A sturdy piece of wood one inch smaller than your box. The wood should fit into your box, leaving a one inch border.
  • A black tshirt to cut up, 100 % cotton.
  • Fabric Scraps, pretty fabric that you love, lace, trim, fibers, enough to completely cover 1 piece of wood
  • Paint brushes, 1 detail, 1 one inch & one in between
