Prerequisite: 14 or older

 
 

    Whether or not you can draw, everyone can doodle. You will be surprised how simple lines can create a great look. Learn to etch your doodle art into metal. This is a fun class! Students will have enough time and material to complete several pieces of wearable art.

Materials fee of $18 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
  • Copper sheet
  • Steel wool
  • Leather cording
    and use of:
  • Torches to share
  • Hole punches
  • Mallets
  • Bench blocks
  • 3-5 torching stations
  • Pickle and pickle pot
  • Etchant supplies
  • Cleaning supplies

    Students should bring:
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Bezel Shears
  • Metal Files (not diamond coated)
  • Old toothbrush
  • Disposable rubber gloves
  • Rag
  • Magnifying glasses and Ott light as needed
  • Sharpie (one fine tip, one medium tip, must be black)
  • Metal Ruler

    Optional:
  • Jeweler’s saw
  • Bench block or anvil
  • Divider
  • Super grip gloves
