Transformational Painting II

Prerequisite: Previous painting experience, any style of painting
The class focus is to take students' work to a new advanced level and create pathways for the student to find a personnel artistic identity that is uniquely their own. Developing an artist style is based on understanding how to read your own unique personal visual fingerprint. That unique artistic style usually is discovered not by the artist but by communication between the artist and viewer. The artist is usually the last to know! The class will explore exciting new and old painting techniques tailored to each class member’s work. The class will also be given a down to earth working philosophy on how to evaluate your own work along with others. Each class member will create a painting that advances their personal techniques, artistic direction and passion.
Students should bring:
Bring any thing that you are interested in, i.e.:
- Examples of your work
- An unfinished painting
- Art materials that are part of your visual exploration
- Ideas/ images that you aspire to
- Enough supplies to create at least one painting
