Introducing the Thermofax screen to mixed media! This workshop begins with a lesson on printing with Thermofax screens using custom mixed printing ink and from there we will build off of the prints to create mixed media journal style artwork using wax resist, acrylic paints and water-soluble media. I will provide a Thermofax screen in each class kit. Have a design or sketch of your own that you’d like used for your screen? Email me the image when you’ve signed up for class and I’ll create your own custom screen! Not sure about using your own image, well that’s OK too because I have images of my own that I’ll happily share. If you’ve been wondering what a Thermofax is and how to use one in your mixed media work, then this class will show you some exciting ways to use them that have nothing to do with printing them on fabric!
Kit Fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- Thermofax Screen with your own design or one of mine if you choose
- substrate materials
- squeegee tool
- Faber Castell Mixed Media kit
Instructor supplies the following supplies for use in class:
- Paints and mediums
- printing ink
- stamps
- stencils
- inks
- print-making tools
- wax
Students should bring:

- palette
- graphite pencil
- assorted pens for journaling
