On the Surface - Enameling

Prerequisite: Enameling experience
Type of Workshop: Project - Student should finish in class
Creating surface designs on your enamel can be easy and fun. In this class, students will learn to emboss the surface of their enamel to create layers of designs for a custom look. Knowledge of basic torch enameling a must, this way, we can skip the basics and get to work. Additional materials and tools maybe purchased from instructor.
Kit Fee $28 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- enough copper to finish 5 pieces
- copper jump rings
- 18" copper chain
- a variety of enamel colors and supplies will be provided to share
Supplies Provided by Instructor to use in class:
- Torches and firing tools to share (1 station for every 3 people)
- Enamel tools and supplies to share
- Tripods
- Metal Files (not diamond coated)
- Two hole metal punches
Students should bring:
- Chain nosepliers
- Round nosepliers
- Side Cutters
- 10 magazine pages
- Ruler
- Magnifying glasses and Ott light* as needed
- *Extension cord for Ott light
