Type of Workshop: Process and Project

In this class you will have a completed treasure mirror. Gather all those trinkets, old earrings, charms, pins, found objects, jewelry, belt buckles, watches, hardware, beads …and include them in one great piece of art. You will learn composition, the secrets for a no grout mosaic, a mixed media technique you will use over and over again.

I will share my mosaic knowledge from what kind of bases to use, how to hang a mosaic, and all about adhesives and grout, even though we won’t need grout on this project!

Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:

• Substrate with mirror
• Stash of found objects

Instructor will supply the following for use in the class:

• Secret formula no grout adhesive
• Fill in objects

Students should bring:

• A butter knife or pallet knife for spreading
• Old beads, pins, earrings,
• Treasures from the past or present
• Game pieces
• Stuff!
