Fire and Ice Pendant

In this class you will create a pendant that combines torch-fired enamels with "icy cold" look of cubic zirconia. Play with both fire and ice in this day-long workshop. You will learn the basics of torch-fired enameling, how to fabricate a thick-walled bezel, and how to tube-set a faceted stone. These skills will launch you into a new level of metal work and jewelry creation.
Soldering and sawing experience recommended
Materials fee of $30 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- 22g and 24g copper sheet
- enamel powders
- enamel holding agent
- enamel sifters

Students should bring the following to class:
- Eye Protection & Ear Protection
- Bench Pin or Vise
- Bench block or Anvil
- Jeweler's saw and blades – yes, there will be sawing!
- Needle file set – round, half-round, flat, triangle, square, etc.
- Hand files
- Round nose, flat nose and chain nose pliers
- Metal shears
- Rawhide mallet
Optional:
- Bail making pliers
- Dremel or other rotary tool with grinding/polishing attachments
- Work light
- Shape templates (circles, square, ovals, etc.)
