Using collage, texture and paint, we will create interesting mixed media pieces with a consistently pleasing composition. I will furnish each student with a composition guide (it's a stencil that is yours to keep) that will be a template to guarantee compositional success. You can also expect to learn some fun texture techniques (pasta, anyone?) that are a little out of the box. Add stencils and collage materials to the mix and I just know we are going to have a lot of fun to boot!
Kit fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- acrylic paints
- stencils
- texture products
- pasta
- Inktense pencils
- Scribbles
- inks
- sticks
- skewers
- gel medium
- napkins for collage
Students should bring:
- 2 gesso boards, 9x12 in size
- collage materials of your choice
- water container
- a couple of painting brushes (one smallish angle brush plus another larger flat brush)
- glue brush
- spray bottle
- palette (paper plates or palette paper)
- palette knife
- pencil
- baby wipes
- We will be working with complimentary colors, so bring your favorite acrylic paint (1 or two colors only) and I'll bring the rest.
- Plan on wearing an apron & possibly gloves, we will be messy.
