Cold enameling is a new art process utilizing micas, enameling powders, glass glitter and other interesting surface mediums in conjunction with a glasslike product called ICE Resin®. These mediums used in tandem with time honored metalworking techniques add color and texture to metal. Explore advanced resin techniques such as embedding transparencies, adding spot color and layering imagery. Learn cold-join wireworking attachments and metalworking techniques of forging, annealing and patina.

Materials/Kit Fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:

• large mixed-metal heart bezel
• 1 ICE Resin plunger per student
• 12-gauge bronze wire
• 20-gauge bronze wire
• Fibers
• Transparencies/papers
• micas
• all colors used to create cold enameling.

Students should bring:

• ball peen hammer
• steel bench block
• pounding mat or washcloth to cushion noise
• needle nose jewelry pliers
• flat nose jewelry pliers
• round nose jewelry pliers
• wire snips
• file
• fine steel wool or green kitchen scrubbie
• baby wipes
• old key
• any crystal beads, charms or small found objects (optional)
