The torso shape is the perfect form to create a character while learning the basics of casting with resin. Learning to make a 3 dimensional mold of a torso, students will learn the techniques needed for successful and unique castings in resin. This sampler class will cover mixing consistent batches, adding color, additives, layering and adding found objects. In addition you will learn how-to work with other epoxies and ways to speed up curing and working times as you do multi-pour casts. Finishing techniques are an essential practice for completing casts and will be covered as well. Students will walk away with a torso or two.
Kit Fee of $25 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- Resin for use in class
- two part mold material
- a variety of elements including papers, transfers, charms, trinkets colors, additives
- all other supplies needed to play
Supplies Provided by Instructor for use in class:
- All miscellaneous tools and supplies to share
- things to mold
Students should bring:
Parchment or Teflon working surface Baby wipes scissors something to take pieces home on – a flat tray is perfect..
Optional: Any papers, charms or trinkets you would like to work into your piece
