Discover your inner fonts by creating 26 lettering styles in decorated funky tag journal. Make each alphabet letter a work of art, from exploring 26 “artful lettering” styles on 26 tags using every letter in the alphabet. Every tag represents an individual artwork, illustrating a letter and mixed media art technique. Play, explore and experiment with piles of pens, papers, collage, brushes and assorted markers. Focus on creative letterforms while identifying your own distinct lettering style, simple drawing and decorative doodles. Make interesting fonts and designs that are easily incorporated into your journaling or any artwork.
Materials fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- Tag journal
- binding ring
- papers
- pens and paint sampler goody bag to keep
- Markers, inks, paints, additional brushes and specialty papers provided for class use.
Students should bring:
- Mechanical pencil
- white eraser
- large UHU glue stick
- markers for coloring (bring your favorites, whatever you have)
- watercolors (Koi Travel set, Prang, suggested)
- Niji water brush-medium
- your favorite black waterproof lettering markers in a variety of tip sizes (such as Pitt Pens, Microns) Pen assortments will also be provided.
