Why rummage to find cool keys when you can make your own. In this class we will learn basic silver soldering and sawing skills. Tools may be purchased from instructor. Processes: Fabrication, silversmithing, silver soldering. Students will complete project.
Kit fee of $30 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- Enough stock for one SS key
- saw blades
- sanding materials
Provided by the instructor:
Students should bring:
- 5 torches, quenching bowls, fire bricks, pickle and pickle pot
- Solder
- Flex shaft and bits
- Appropriate table coverings
- Flat nose or chain nose x2 or one of each
- Metal files (not diamond coated) or cup bur
- Magnifying glasses and Ott light as needed
- Bezel Shears
- Jeweler’s saw
- Bench pin
