“Under the Sea” is a combination journal and tunnel book full of pages and pages of cleverly designed layouts. Using vintage imagery along with SteamPunk influenced elements and imagery you’ll be drawn in to this delightfully inspired version of the classic Jules Vernes’ “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” journey. Imagery provided is black printed on buff paper, but color can easily be added if desired. Much of the imagery is adapted from the original illustrations.
Kit fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- Precut and drilled wooden front and back page
- Metal tape
- Compass and magnifying glass
- Book binding rings
- All imagery included to make sample book, plus much more.
- Sandpaper
- Wax Paper
- Use of additional supplies, templates and materials

- Black paint
- A few metallic paint colors - small craft paint jars are fine
- Pencil
- White Eraser
- Elmer’s Glue
- Scissors Cuticle scissors or Utility or Exacto knife with new sharp blade and protective cutting surface
- Bone Folder
- ¼” chisel paint brush
- 1” Paint brush – Inexpensive brush from a home improvement store is fine
- Compass with pencil
- Metal Ruler
- Your usual journaling supplies such as markers, pens etc.
Optional Supplies:
- Bristol paper if you would like to trace my templates for later use
- Glass bottles with corks – (I will have a small selection available)
- Watercolor or colored pencils if you want to add color to provided imagery
- If you have or we can share - Heat gun
