There are a myriad of opportunities to get your work published in magazines. This lecture-style class teaches you how to navigate the world of publishing from writing a successful query email to an editor, to getting an assignment, to turning in your writing and art on or before deadline to the final important step of invoicing clients to collect your paycheck for a job well done. For more than a decade, Jen Cushman has been working as an independent writer and editor for various national magazines and has well over 300 articles in her freelance career portfolio. This class will give helpful real-life information such as how to find and follow magazine's writer's guidelines, how to take the fear out of contacting editors and establishing a professional working relationship with editors and art directors.
