The dictionary tells us that a muse is a source of inspiration; a guiding genius. As artists sometimes to really listen to that source we have to focus on something that visually moves us, something that creates or sparks an idea, which sparks another and so on.
In this evening class we will create our own inspirational muse using objects, textures and items that tell a visual story and serve as a catalyst for creative ideas.
Kit Fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- The top metal base of our muse (each will be different as they come from a local salvage shop
- Wire
- Ribbon
- Old Hardware
- Driftwood Pieces
- Images
- Gesso
Instructor will provide the following items for use in workshop:
- A heat gun
- Drill
- Rubber stamps
- Bits and bobs
- Tools
- Additional ephemera
Students should bring:
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Items for Your Muse – Old keys, old hardware, metal thread spools, metal stencils, beads, buttons, wooden thread spools, ribbon, charms, etc.
- Old or New Necklace to be repurposed
- Jewelry Pliers – Nothing expensive here. I will also have my tools in class for you to use.
