Student Level: Beginning to Intermediate depending on paper making experience
Type of Workshop: Process - will take home a paper painting
In this class you will experience the exciting world of papermaking. Although we will begin our fun with lots of lovely colored pulp ready for your tweezers and spoons, you will learn all about the process of turning your paper waste into pulp and coloring the pulp with ordinary household materials like tea and vegetables. In this class we will use a simple process of spooning and laying down colored pulp to create a multi-colored work of art without ever having to lift a brush!
Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- 5" x 7" foam core support
- plastic spoon
- popsicle stick
- pulp colored in several colors, enough to create a 5”X 7” pulp painting per student plus the use of:
- screens
- sponges (one per student)
- threads, strings and small trinket items to embed in the pulp
Students should bring:
