Collage Monotype Tuesday 9 - 4:30 $135 Helen Shafer Garcia
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
There is something wonderful about non-perfect marks, subtleties of random pattern, and liquefied hues that flow into each other. Hand transferred watercolor monotypes give us that expression of intriguing textured color fusion shapes. These unique one-off prints hold a huge realm of additive possibilities with collage and additional layers of watercolor. I’ll show you ways to drop in brilliant color onto the paper surface. You could also scan and print copies for additional collage after these are finished. The possibilities are endless! Adding collage to a Monotype is a form of instant gratification. Bright colors, lines, and shapes just pop immediately on the surface with little effort. We’ll approach at least 5 different techniques with this process. Students will take home 4 or more hand printed and collaged monotypes
