A Cut Above Friday 9:00 - 4:30 $145 Pam Carriker
Student Level: Intermediate, some lino cut carving experience is helpful
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
|
One of my favorite pastimes is carving linoleum blocks. I find it methodically stress relieving and it helps me to see my art in a new way. By carving our own lino blocks with images created from previous artwork, we are able to further explore our creativity with new mediums. We will learn how to turn our own work into positive/negative images, transfer them to linoleum and then create detailed carvings from them.
During the second half of the class we will print with our new carvings using custom print paste we will make ourselves, and then we will make several journal pages from the printed images. If you are game we can even stamp each other’s images into our journals to have fun playing with even more art!
Each student will take away a finished lino cut block and several finished mixed media journal pages.
