Daniel Essig is a studio artist and workshop leader living in Asheville, North Carolina. He is a recipient of the North Carolina Artist Fellowship Grant. His work has been collected by the Smithsonian Renwick Museum, The Miniature Book Collection at the University of Iowa Libraries and Special Collections library at the University of California, San Diego . Many of Daniel’s sculptural pieces are featured in The Penland Book of Handmade Books, Masters: Book Arts and recently Daniel’s centipede stitch is featured in Destination Creativity The Life-altering Journey of the Art Retreat by Rice Freeman-Zachery.
