Teachers Coloring Outside the Lines

Come join us in the laughter and fun as we cheer or heckle our favorite teachers as they create an object of art while Coloring Outside the Lines. Just imagine being given a bunch of 'stuff' and 30 minutes to create something just the opposite of your usual style - all the while being prodded and cajoled by MC Rice Freeman Zachery amid the camera flashes, cheering and heckling of your students. Visualize a frilly pink, soft book created by Michael deMeng or Thomas Ashman; a crusty, rusty, dark metal statue created by Lisa Engelbrecht or Ruth Rae; that's what the challenge is all about - Coloring Outside the Lines... Be prepared to laugh and have a whole lot of fun and don't forget to bring your camera along!

Now there's no telling how their art is going to turn out, but afterwards, there will be a live auction with the proceeds to fund a scholarship for a deserving artist who couldn't otherwise attend a workshop at AU 2012. I'm expecting some pretty low bids but Phoenix Rising Productions is guaranteeing that the scholarship will be funded for a minimum of 2 full day workshops. After AU ends, we'll be sending out a Call for scholarship nominations.

Before the "Show Down" begins, we'll all have some fun Coloring Outside the Lines too - but it's a secret, so don't ask!

Tickets: Registered attendees $15, non-registered guests $20 includes a glass of house wine or a domestic beer or a bartender's special drink followed by a cash bar during the remainder of the evening.
