    You have stood in the scrapbooking aisles fingering those small collections of microscope slides wishing for so much more than thin rectangles and weightless little squares. You find the perfect faceted oval jewel, but what will you use for the back? What if you could cut glass, thick opulent textured, even colored glass?

    What if you could drill holes in glass and fashion covers for art journals? Create charms in any shape?  If you want to break out of the "box" and incorporate glass into your art work in a skies the limit approach this technique driven workshop is just for you. Fascinated with mosaics, fused and stained glass but struggling with cutting knowledge and reliable skills?

    This class is dedicated to honing your glass knowledge, safety and techniques. Together we will cut, shape, grind, and bevel our way through a plethora of beautiful glass!  Our day will cover straight cuts, curvy cuts, squares, diamonds, circles, ovals, and those ever challenging inside curves.

    We will cover safety, techniques, proper use, care and maintenance of your glass tools. What tool to use and when, everything you need to know to ENJOY and MASTER glass cutting, drilling, decorative edge treatments and simple beveling.  We will cover all hand tools related to class cutting. This class is completely technique driven. You will leave with the knowledge and ability to transform glass into desirable shapes using the most reliable tools available on the market today, whether your interest is mosaics, stained glass, fused glass of mixed media art. You will master glass cutting, and this shall set you free!

    This is a hands-on workshop.  Closed toed shoes and safety glasses required.

    Kit fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes: an assortment of stained and clear glass to practice with, small jar of glass cutting oil, a German glass marking pen, patterns for shapes, and a graphic artist lay out ruler, you will quickly fall in love with.

    Supplies provided by Instructor: A plethora of stained and architectural glass to experiment and master, glass cleaner, lint free cleaning cloths, cork cutting surface for each student, glass grinders, trays and brushes to keep work area safe and clean, detailed hand outs for future reference
