Stamps are an easy and incredibly versatile means to print repetitively. In this class we will explore three types of stamps, carved, cut and found object. In the first half of the class will create stamps; in the second we will explore printing with them on cloth.
Supply List- 4x6” Soft Kut printing block (Dick Blick)
- Xacto Wood carving set AND/OR #11 Xacto knife
- Sticky back Craft Foam
- Beveled acrylic mounts (often sold in sets of 5) 5” or smaller
- Scissors
- String
- Corrugated cardboard
- Acrylic paint (red, blue yellow, white and black. Jacquard Neopaque is a decent brand)
- 2” foam brush
2-3 yards cloth cut into 16 fat 1/8ths (this can be commercial cloth or hand dyed, just remember that you will need to print over it so it should be light to medium in value)- towel you don’t mind getting dirty
- large yogurt cup
- plastic sheeting
- apron
