Spiral Notebook Necklace Sunday evening 6:30 - 9:30 $60 Bridget Benson
Student Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Type of Workshop: Project
I enjoy playful jewelry, and jewelry that tells a story. Each of these little pendants is a fully-functional spiral notebook, with pages of images, words, pretty papers and even transparencies that fit together in interesting ways. Each one is reversible, the covers made from sturdy pieces of plexiglass, and decorated with inks, stamps, and paints. These pendants are a fun, low-stress, beginner-friendly project and a great way to use up tiny scraps of paper – in other words, it’s the perfect evening class!
Kit fee of $8 payable to Instructor at class time includes four pieces of acrylic plexiglass (each 1.25” x 1.25”), chain, wire, sandpaper, full color handout.
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Acrylic paints, alcohol inks, Staz-On inks, and rubber stamps to share; basic jewelry-making tools to share, including chain-nose pliers, nippers, and round-nose pliers; variety of collage imagery and papers; 1/16” hole punches to share; rulers to share; Diamond Glaze and DG3 to share; Drill press; toothpicks, tape, paper towels, and other classroom basics.
Supply List:- Scissors
- pencil
- craft knife
- cutting mat
- paintbrushes (for ink, paint, and glazes)
- water container
- your favorite colors of acrylic paint (liquid or medium body ok)
- photos
- papers, or transparencies you may want to incorporate
- your favorite rubber stamps
- “Note: You will be able to fit approximately seven pieces of paper in each notebook. It’s best if these are papers that won’t be easily smudged - try using laser copies rather than ink jet prints, for instance.”
Optional: If you have your own alcohol inks, Staz-On ink pads, ruler, Diamond Glaze, DG3, and/or your own jewelry making tools, feel free to bring them if it’s easy. Also, if you have a drill and a 1/16 bit, feel free to bring it; I only have one drill press, and there may end up being a wait to use it.
