Soldered Shadowbox Pendant Thursday evening 6:30 - 9:30 $70
  Paula Hardesty

Student Level:
Intermediate - Advanced, must have taken beginning soldering
Type of Workshop: Process and Project

Want to explore a new dimension in soldering? Here is your chance. We will create a three dimensional soldered piece to wear or put on your Christmas tree. First we will create a collage inside of our box by using paint, lace, and an image (I will have an assortment of finished images, but if you want to bring your own, make sure it is a finished piece- size: 1 1/2 x 2 inches). We will encapsulate our collage in this glass box by soldering it all together along with texture. Add some wire work to jazz it up and voila - you’re done. Must have taken beginning soldering to take this class.

I will have three large soldering irons to use in class, but feel free to bring your own if you don’t want to wait. I use the Weller 100 watt soldering iron with the mini phaser rheostat so we can turn it down to 50 watt. You need the 1/2 inch tip. Bring all your soldering supplies from the beginners class including your small soldering iron.

Kit/Materials fee of $10 payable to Instructors at class time includes: custom cut glass, copper foil, flux, solder, wire, rings, and silver ball chain and/or ribbon.

Supplies Provided by Instructror: Full instructions, paint, glitter, lace, ribbon, gloves, windex, alcohol, paper towels, images, extension cords/power strips, pencil, sharpie
