Student Level:
All
Type of Workshop: Process

This workshop, suitable for all skill levels, explores a fusion technique creating a journal enhanced with real botanicals that are pressed, painted and bonded to the cover and various pages.  This is a great method for preserving finds from a vacation or the flower garden.  Teachers will cover the art of preserving botanicals grown in the garden by pressing them then bonding them for strength so they can be enhanced with paints and tints. The botanicals will be used throughout the journal providing a unique look to the various pages for colorful memories.

Using a Vintage book instructors will demonstrate the proper way to remove pages without damaging the cover.  Pages from the book may provide excellent words for inclusion in the journal.
