Paste Paper (or) Finger Painting for Adults

    Learn the fabulous technique of paste paper to create stunningly beautiful papers for background to your artwork,, book covers, wrapping paper, or incorporation into journals, and scrapbooks. It harkens back to a simpler childhood memory of finger painting. The concept is similar, but the results are nothing like those childhood papers. The papers you will create are much more like the wonderful marbled papers from Italy or France . You will mix color and paste and apply it to Arches paper. Then the fun begins. A variety of tools for making pattern into the paste will result in intricate patterns and beautiful color blends. You’ll surprise yourself with your creativity.

    Materials fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Paper stock for project, Tyvek paper, Handouts – samples & directions, Use of all materials brought by instructor

    Supplies provided by Instructor for use in class: Paste – several varieties Acrylics in a variety of colors, including metallics, Containers and tools for mixing color with paste, Tools for creating pattern into paste, Rubber gloves

    Supply List:
  • At least 2 full sheets -40” x 26” Arches Text Wove paper, torn into quarters (either light or heavy weight) *Double that amount if half sheets (20” x 26”) – cut sheets in half

Any acrylic colors you’d like to use
Any combing tools you have
